Is blood really thicker then water? Family are the people that we are born with and share the last name. However, are they really the people that we are the closest with? I find that family can be an area that causes me to be the most hurt and upset. Why is that? I find that we expect families to support, love, and never hurt us. However, is that to much to expect from just other human beings that we share a last name with. Or do we create our own family through are friends that we love?
The definition of family is: “a basic social unit consisting of parents and their children, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not: the traditional family. b. a social unit consisting of one or more adults together with the children they care for: a single-parent family.” This is the definition of family, but is it the correct definition of family. Personally I think family can be anyone that you want in your life. I am close to some members of my family but not all. I also do think that people should be forced to associate family with those related to you. Because every where we go we see a reference to family, But to define family just as those who are close to you would for me not be a complete definition.
Family is whatever we make it to be or create it to be. Family is the people we are close to and share a mutually bond with. These are the people that want and wish the best for you in your life. Wherever you go in the world I hope you take your family with you. Never allow yourself to view family in one dimension allow it to be what fits for you and your life.
